Through an analytic approach, we explore emotions and feelings, understanding how your early life experiences shaped your current thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. While delving into troubled childhood relationships and experiences may not always provide immediate solutions, it can offer self-awareness and acceptance of neglected or criticized aspects of yourself. Our sessions will enable you to comprehend negative patterns in past and current relationships, fostering a deeper understanding of yourself.

I also emphasize a body-centered perspective, where we creatively explore the unspoken languages of your body. Physical symptoms can express deeply felt emotions such as anxiety, fear, sadness, and anger. By attentively focusing on your present experiences, we work together to find meaningful solutions for your specific situation.

What to Expect for Your First Session –
A Journey of Discovery

Your first session is incredibly important to me. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and gain more insight into your specific concerns and how comfortable you feel with me. Depending on what you are coming to see me about this could be a 1 or 2 hour initial session. Over the following sessions, we will delve into your past, exploring aspects like your family background, early childhood experiences, teenage years, and your overall life situation. I'll also inquire about your personal and work relationships, as well as any medical or health concerns you may have. We are holistic beings after all and all of it makes up our life experience.

What Techniques will I Use?

While I have my favourites that I believe are the fastest, most thorough to facilitate change, MAP MethodTM, Psych-k®, Coaching, EFT and Hypnosis, click on each for a more detailed description, what I will use with you comes down to your uniqueness. Everything works for someone but not everything works for everyone and so I work very intuitively based on 4 decades of exploring and studying everything and everyone I could in this arena, and what I experienced on my own journey, so each session can be a blend of many things. If you want to use a specific tool let me know, I have many clients who have their favourites and some clients come to see me because they are curious about a process or tool they have read about.

Benefits & Risks:

My techniques can offer significant benefits to those engaged in the process, although outcomes cannot be guaranteed. The therapeutic journey may require clients to take risks, including the courage to confront challenging issues. The benefits gained are largely determined by personal commitment and investment in self-exploration. Some potential benefits include:

Some potential benefits include:

  • Improved presence in relationships and daily life
  • Relief from traumatic memories, physical symptoms, grief, and loss - Freedom from addictive behaviors
  • Relief from anxiety and depression
  • Increased awareness of personal reactions to pain and suffering, leading to empowered choices
  • Understanding personal limits and motivations
  • Learning to release the root causes of negative thinking
  • Cultivating acceptance of oneself and others
  • Gaining conscious awareness of the desired life one wishes to live
  • Career and job changes to something more suiting your values and purpose.

It is important to note that therapy may also involve potential risks. This can include experiencing uncomfortable or distressing emotions such as sadness, anxiety, anger, or frustration. Additionally, therapy may uncover unpleasant aspects of personal history, which can initially lead to feeling worse before experiencing improvement. It is a normal part of the process.

Over the years, I have observed that individuals undergoing therapy may experience changes that result in growing apart from their partners.

However, therapy can also contribute to significant improvements in relationships, requiring commitment from both individuals involved to build a positive and healthy bond.

Basically in my approach to therapy and coaching, I am guided by the following principles:

Recognizing the innate wisdom within us There is a natural inclination within us to unfold and integrate towards greater wholeness. Given a respectful and safe environment, the body has the capacity to heal itself.

Reconnecting with our innate wisdom and aliveness The ultimate goal of therapy and coaching is to help individuals reconnect with their own wisdom and vitality, allowing them to live authentically in the world and pursue their passions. Furthermore, it aims to cultivate compassion, relatedness, and understanding for oneself and others.

How Many Sessions Will it Take?

I can't answer this and I will tell you why, pretty much what I spoke about earlier. We are all unique and everyone approaches their sessions differently and at the level where they are at. Some people just have a lot of 'stuff' to get through so we have to get through it, and sometimes the wounds are so deep they can take awhile to find those early deep beliefs and change them. Some people get through their stuff really really quickly, others take a bit. For example, some addictions are just habits and easy to release, but others are bonded deeply to early emotional wounds that never healed so take longer, we won't know this until we start working.

Homework

Depending on what why you are coming to see me, I might recommend homework, which could be in the form of a book to read, podcast to listen to, websites to visit or a video to watch or just tasks. What I've noticed over the years is some people really want change and will do what it takes, others just want relief from their situation. Their comfort zone is tooooo comfortable so once the unbearableness has released somewhat they are happy. They are the ones most likely to spiral down again and think the process didn't work.

A Path to Empowerment and Optimism

As you come to know and understand yourself more deeply and honestly, you'll develop the capacity for self-awareness and self-reflection. Expressing your feelings and thoughts will lead to a more integrated and empowered sense of being. I believe this journey will pave the way for a future that is meaningful, productive, and content.
